With one-on-one personal training you’ll benefit from individual supervision from a qualified, certified and professional personal trainer and you’ll do it at your convenience at days and times that fit your schedule.

I will design a program for you incorporating scientific exercise progression and specific target-area training based on your goals. Workouts are varied and interesting, incorporating different, innovative techniques to get you the best fitness results in the fastest amount of time.

This service is specially customized to meet the client's goals and needs and to ensure that exercises are being performed effectively and safely. All exercises are first fully explained and demonstrated to ensure the client understands them. Then, performance feedback is given when the client tries the exercise. This helps to re-enforce proper technique.

Personal Training Sessions are conducted only after client health screening concerns and personal goals are reviewed. These sessions are geared not only towards training the client but also educating him or her in basic fitness theory. The aim is to have the client become knowledgeable enough to independently author and administer his or her own program and sessions.

What do Mark Fitness's personal training sessions include?

Consultation: Mark will help you set clearly defined goals and establish an appropriate exercise program.  He will discuss your past exercise experiences, past medical history and all lifestyle aspects that will help him customize and design the perfect exercise routine along with the proper nutritional guidelines.

Exercise Program: You will receive an exercise program tailored to your health and fitness needs. Your exercise program will include a combination of health and fitness components including: Resistance Training, Stretches, Cardiovascular routines and nutritional guidelines and guidance.

Mark Fitness: You will receive individualized attention, guidance and motivation to ensure your success in reaching your goals and maintaining them.

Why Personal Training?
Simply put, personal training is the fastest, most effective and most legitimate weight loss and fitness optimization strategy available. In just a few sessions with a well regarded personal trainer, people learn more about proper nutrition and exercise than they could learn reading 5 - 8 books or exercising on their own for years.  You have a guaranteed source of education, motivation and direction in form, technique, how many sets, how much weight, which exercises, how much cardio, how often to do cardio, nutrition, etc.
What will I be doing during each training session?
Your workout is designed based upon your health history, your goals, any current limitations and your time available for exercise. My focus is to educate you on all of the essential components of good health: flexibility, stamina, endurance, strength and weight reduction, and of course, take you through well developed training sessions.  Clients generally start to feel better, physically and mentally, the first week they begin their training.  Some sessions will include more endurance type training, other sessions might include more flexibility where I teach you how to stretch and I manually stretch you.  Each session will be different to accomodate your skill set and goals.
Are you going to make me look like a body builder?
If you're looking to become a body builder, then yes, but that's not my specialty. If you are not looking to be a bodybuilder, then no!!

I'll be training you to be physically fit and healthy, to lose weight, get in shape and to enhance energy & vitality. You will build some lean, toned muscle as you train, and your body will change positively as a result.  You will be looking and feeling the best you've ever been!!

Are you going to sell me a huge package of training sessions or use high pressure sales tactics?

Absolutely not!

 

I am a fitness professional who works with clients because it's simply my lifelong passion and labor of love. Many gyms, health clubs, fitness centers and personal trainers entice you into signing up for months or years of membership or personal training, and worse yet, the training isn't personal, it's in a group and not well supervised or they just take you through a general & generic routine.  It's easy to just 'work someone out', what I do is 'Personal Training'.

 

I am so confident in my approach that I offer different payment options and plans to accommodate your needs.  I don't believe budget should be what holds you back from getting fit and healthy!!  I do make package options available to offer you a discount on multiple sessions.

Do you help me with my nutrition and eating?

Definitely.

 

Each client gets individual coaching to teach you everything that you need to know about eating the right foods with the right frequency to elevate metabolism and lose significant body fat. All clients are given continued support to ensure nutritional needs are in sequence with fitness goals.  I believe in making small changes at a time, instead of going from a 'so-so' diet to a 'perfect diet' overnight.  I teach you how to make healthier choices to ensure lifelong success and not just a quick fix crash diet. 

What Should I Wear?
Wear what you’re comfortable wearing. Sneakers are very important for proper foot traction and shock protection.  Most clients train in a pair of shorts and a t-shirt. Some wear sweats. It doesn't matter as long as you feel comfortable.
Can my spouse, children or friend train with me too?
Without a doubt! In fact, I encourage it. My goal is to help as many North Tonawandians as possible and getting your friends and family involved is a great way to develop a support network and will help everyone look and feel great!  I offer great discounts on group training to encourage friends and family to train together!!
I feel a little nervous about getting started, I have never done anything like this before.
Many new clients felt that way - it's completely okay. What I find is after you meet me, you feel exceptionally comfortable with myself and my training approach. Why is certification important?

  • A trainer has demonstrated on an examination that they have the skills/knowledge required to provide safe and effective exercise programs
     
  • Trainers who are certified are required to attend conferences/lectures and earn continuing education credits to maintain their certification. This helps the trainer maintain/improve their knowledge and skills in the field and stay current with the latest research as well.
